Write Your Blog Content Like Your Writing to a Friend

One of the biggest lessons i've learnt so far in the short time i've been blogging is the importance of writing each blog post as though i was talking to just one person like you or maybe a best friend, as opposed to writing to a group of people or subscribers…

I first learnt this powerful technique of writing from one of my earlier internet marketing mentors Terry Dean and it's amazing when you actually put it into practice how it can improve the way you write…

Writing this way gives your posts a much more improved flow to them and also has the added benefit of making your writing a lot easier. I suppose that as blogs by nature are more conversational type sites this makes perfect sense…

Here's the simple method i use for example if i was trying to explain to you how important it is that you teach your children good manners and respect from an early age. I know this is completely off topic from blogging but it's a quick example i've just thought of while writing this that i can use to help explain the benefits of writing this way…

I would simply imagine that a friend of mine had popped round for a friendly chat and who wanted my advice on how he could teach his young children to have some respect and manners as they had started to become very rude to him and never seemed to say thank you for anything they were given. He mentioned that my children who were slightly older than his always seemed to be well behaved and use their manners whenever given anything..

Now i would write this post in a similar way to how the natural conversation would develop between us. For instance i could write a sub heading that says something like the following with an example of what i would write underneath it:

===================================================

Explain to Your Children the Benefits Of Sounding Grateful

The best way i can think of that will help you to get across to your children the importance saying thank you whenever their given a nice present from say their grandparents, that by doing so with a nice smile on their face will increase their chances of getting more nice presents in the future. Tell them how happy it makes their grandparents feel when they sound so grateful for the presents grandma and grandad have spent the afternoon carefully choosing for them…

===================================================

Now it may take a little while for you to adjust to writing your blog posts in this way but once you get a grasp of how to do it and you can picture that 1 ideal person that you want to talk or blog to you'll come to realize how it can drastically improve the flow of your writing and also have the added benefit of making writing quality content a lot easier…

Have you tried writing your blog content in a similar way ?

    I agree with this post. When I try to write my post, I tend to write better if I write in a way that I feel like I'm just chatting with somebody. As for the readers, it's easier to understand what you are writing since it's very similar to the everyday conversations they experience.
