Why Using In Text Advertising On Your Blog Is a Mistake

In a previous post 17 ways to make money with a blog i outlined the many techniques you could use on your blog to make money. Out of that list of 17 there's a particular technique i want to warn you against using, even though some of the more successful blogs i read on a daily basis are using it. The specific technique i'm talking about is using "In Text Advertising"

In text advertising automatically places ads on your content once you've installed the code on your blog. The way to recognize these ads is that they are double underlined. Once you hover your mouse over the double underlined text an ad shows up in a sort of pop up box. You earn money each time one of your blog readers click on one of these pop up ads. Two of the biggest networks are Vibrant Media and Kontera

The reason i recommend you don't use in text advertising is because it can completely change the look and feel of your blog in a negative way. For instance the ads seem to distract attention away from the natural flow of a blog post or article. The content ads can also confuse people into thinking that your personally recommending the products that appear in the ads and of course your not..
