Reciprocal Link Strategy that Works

9 Apr, 2007  |  Written by John  |  under Blog Promotion

One of the most effective ways of getting more exposure for your blog is to build quality reciprocal links from other blogs that have a similar topic to your own. I've been doing my own research into how to get other blogs to link to mine besides the normal route that many site owners go down which is simply sending out emails saying something like:

"Hey John, just visited your site and thought the content that you provide is awesome and i especially liked your article on blah blah blah. I've placed a link on my site/blog to yours and would appreciate if you'd do the same for mine. Have a great day!"

Now this method might get you some links to your blog but in my eyes it's simply a bullshit reciprocal linking strategy that doesn't gain you any respect from the person who's receiving the above type spammy link building email…

Now if you take the above example reciprocal link building strategy and compare it with the method i'm currently using on my blog which is also used by a lot of other successful bloggers, I'm sure you'll come to the conclusion that this is the best way for you to get quality links back to your own blog…

Ok…… here's the strategy i'm using and will continue to use in the future…

As you can see down the right side of my blog there is a category called "Speedlinking Saturday" In this category once a week i make a blog post called "Speedlinking Saturday Week ?" where i give links to articles and blog posts that i think you will be interested in visiting and where you will learn something new to add to your already growing blogging knowledge. Here's a link to one of my posts that i'm talking about Speedlinking Saturday - Week 1

In the above post i give you 6 links to other articles that i think would be of interest to you (therefore helping you) and also by doing this i'm helping my blog come to the attention of other blogs by linking to them. You see, when the owners of the blogs i link to look at their blogs logs or their wordpress dashboard they will see that Web Business Blog has linked to them from the above said post…

Hopefully they will then think to themselves "hey that's great, john has linked to an article on my blog i wonder if he's got any knowledgeable content on his blog that can help the readers of my blog ?"

If i do have some good quality content they might mention my blog in a future post of theirs therefore giving my blog a nice link!

I'm sure that you can see from doing it this way your building better quality links to your blog, helping your blog readers with knowledgeable related content links and with the added bonus of introducing yourself to other like minded bloggers without using the bullshit linking email that lots of other people are using…
